Code of Ethics

1. To be familiar with the knowledge base of early childhood care and education and to stay informed through continuing education and training.

This ethic should be important to all teachers. Its important to me because I believe that as a teacher I should familiarize myself with new knowledge on education as the generation changes how they obtain or learn knowledge.

2. We shall demonstrate our respect and concern for children, families, colleagues and others with whom we work, honoring, their beliefs, values, customs, languages and cultures.

This ethic states important topic respect. Respect goes along way when it come to families, coworker, and children. And respect works hand and hand with values, beliefs, customs, languages and cultures. I believe values, beliefs, languages, and cultures is important topics that families see as meaningful and as teachers we should respect that.

3.We shall use every resources including referral when appropriate to ensure high quality services are accessible and are provide to children and families.

This ethic is big because we are the first encounter to help children and families to get the necessary help  and provide resources that will identify any disabilities or any educational problems.

  1. Ebony,

I especially like that you chose an ideal that speaks about respect. Showing respect to the field, to children, to families, and to co-workers is so important. All difficult problems can be worked through when people are calm, respectful, and invested in their work.

  2. Hello Ebony,

I have noticed over the last 7 weeks we have had many similar ideas even on this assignment. The Ideal of respecting your coworkers is really a good idea, because if you have a good relationship with your coworkers. The job will run more smoothly.

    Ebony,
I agree with your statement because I too believe being knowledgeable is important for teachers. My passion for early childhood has lead me to invest more time in research about the field. I find myself looking for a variety of resources to help guide my way to finding a genuine teaching style.

  4. Ebony,
You and I choose the same ideal found under the NAEYC code of ethics but one that you did choose that I didn't was the one that stated we should use every resource. I feel this is so true. I believe when going into a field that depends greatly on knowing, understanding, and implementing means we have take everything and what they share into consideration. Working together as a whole shapes the outcome of the child as a student. For example, if the principal, teacher, and teachers assitant are not working well together then that child will suffer at some point in his educational status while being in the hands of these caregivers. You have the right mind frame and being that you are opened and eager to learn new things helps greatly. I wish you, Great Post Ebony!
